Karen L. Hoppough, age 62, of Ionia, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 after two courageous battles with cancer.
Karen was born on October 11, 1957 to George Guy Hoppough and D. Marilyn (Chapin) Hoppough.
She is survived by the love of her life of 34 years, Richard “Dick” Read, daughters, Shannon (LeRoy) King and Heather (Brandon) Hoppough of Ionia. Her pride's and joy's were her grandchildren, Chastity (Caleb) Guernsey, Jordan (Jordan) King, RyLee King, Conner Badder, Garret Badder, Kassen Badder, and her grand dog, Bandit boy, also her great grand babies, EliAnna and Easton Guernsey, and her dearest friend, Mel (Melissa) Brandt; her brothers, George L. Hoppough, Jim/Charlie (Sandi) Hoppough and her twin sister Sharon (Jerry) Hoppough; her nieces and one nephew, Jodi (Travis) Ward, Erin (Joe) Ward, Amy (Justin) Sias, Joshua (Jennifer) Hoppough, and Jammie Hoppough; along with many great nieces and nephews she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, David and Gwen Hoppough
Karen enjoyed watching hummingbirds and deer in her yard and always looked forward to the Ionia Free Fair. Her and Richard enjoyed spending lots of time with each other and their grand kids. Karen was an amazing spouse, mom, sister, aunt, and friend, as well as being a mother to a few of her daughters friends whom she held very close to her.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life for Karen will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 2-5pm at the Loyal Riders Club, 3515 Charles Road, Ionia, Michigan. All are welcome to come celebrate the life of Karen!
