Katherine J. Pung

Katherine “Katie” Pung of Mason, passed away on September 23, 2024 at the age of 85.

Katherine was born on January 20, 1939, in Clarion, Pennsylvania to the late Glade and Bertha Hannold.

She graduated from Resurrection High School in June of 1957 and went to work at the Diamond Reo Company in Lansing for 19 years.  Shortly after that she married Fred (Fritz) Pung who was the love of her life for 25 years from Portland.  She was an avid bingo player, loved country music festivals, and spending time with her many friends and family.  She had two beautiful German shepherds (Ralph and Jake) that were very special to her. 

Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, brother Frank and sister in-law JoEllen Hannold. and niece Michelle (Jerry) Creech of Virginia.  She is survived by her sister, Shirley (Jerry) Wilcox of Mason, niece Lisa (Guy) Olney of Ionia and nephew Jason Wilcox of Leslie.  Other surviving family members are Crisom Napier (Luke, Logan and Arria) of Virginia, Jacob (Allison, Landon, Tanner and Tate) Wilcox of Onondaga and Michael (Hailey and Isabel Wilcox of Leslie.)

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday October 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home in Portland with burial at the North Eagle Cemetery in Eagle following the service.
