Kathleen Ann (Smith) Russman

Kathleen Ann Russman, age 68, of Portland, loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022. She was born on July 14, 1953, the daughter of Elgin and Mable (Koelzer) Smith. Kathy was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a 1971 graduate of St. Patrick School. She worked for many years at T.R.W. and for several years at Joe’s Auto Body, both in Portland. Kathy enjoyed nature and being outdoors, she enjoyed her family’s sporting events and extra circular activities and took great pride in getting team photos no matter how long it might take. She took the time to make sure everyone’s ball glove was just right. Kathy enjoyed rides in her Gator telling stories, playing cards and enjoying a beer with her friends and family on the back porch. She was known to have a “nice talk” with someone anywhere she went. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elaine Miller; brother, Kenneth Smith; in-laws, Leo and Isabel Russman; sister-in-law, Marie DeBaldo; brother-in-law, Jerry Scheurer; niece, Dianne Russman; and nephew, Tim Chamberlain. Surviving are her loving husband of 44 years, Thomas Russman; children, Mike Russman, Angie (Bill) Witt, and Leah (Matt) Anthony; grandchildren, Ben Witt and Lilly and Izzy Anthony; siblings, Steve (Deborah) Smith, Doug (Connie) Smith, Annette (John) Pohl, and Darrel Smith; sister-in-law, Marie Smith; brother-in-law, Jim Miller; in-laws, Joe (Peggy) Russman, John (Mary) Russman, Jim (Lynda) Russman, Fritz (Ann) Russman, Janie Scheurer, and Kathie (Don) Chamberlain; many nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will be at Danby Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m., Wednesday at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.
