Kathlyn L. Harrington

Kathlyn Louise (Decatur) Harrington, age 73, of DeWitt, MI, passed away on December 14, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family and friends. Per Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Kathy was born in Lansing, MI, on June 3, 1952, the daughter of James and Emma (Hawk) Decatur. She graduated from DeWitt High School, part of the Class of 1971. Over the years, Kathy held various roles throughout the area, but she was especially well known and fondly remembered as a waitress at Sam’s Kitchen in DeWitt.

Kathy had a vibrant spirit and a love for simple pleasures. She enjoyed visiting her favorite casinos, shopping at places she affectionately called her “people-watching spots”, such as Meijer and Menards, and taking long scenic drives with her husband. Above all, she treasured time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and her “goofy” sisters who brought endless laughter into her life.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Thomas Glenn Harrington Jr.; her children, Kari (Toby) Dunn and Matt (Jason) Schneider; her grandchildren, Chris (Grace) Boughner, ArtRicia, Sawyer, and Ily Dunn; and her great-grandchildren, Sophia and Carter Boughner, Brigid. She is also survived by her siblings, Janine (Joe) Cavanaugh, Wendy (Jim) Brown, and Bryan Decatur, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Jimmy Brent Decatur, Karen Decatur, and Lisa Seyfried.
