Keith Robert Bailey passed away November 16, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in the City of Ionia, June 13, 1953 to Robert Harold Bailey and Irene Joane Bailey. He was a lifelong resident of Ionia. He worked for General Tire in Ionia for 23 years where he also served as UAW president. Throughout his life he was an avid motorcyclist, fisherman, beer brewer, and genealogist. With his love of genealogy, he dedicated his last 30 years to the research and creation of the “Highland Park Cemetery Index 1883-2022”. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Vander Hulst of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Ava Vander Hulst and Ayden Vander Hulst of Grand Rapids; Kathy Bailey Ringler (sister) and Pat Ringler of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Lisa Bailey Fountain (sister) and Dennis Fountain of Ionia; and nieces and nephews, Christine Ringler, Laura Ringler, Jessica Fountain, Alex Fountain, and Daniel Fountain. Friends and family will gather in his memory on December 4, 2022 beginning at 1:00 pm at the Moose Lodge in Ionia. Memorial donations may be made to the Ionia Historical Society.
