Larry Lee Rogers, of Portland, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on May 3, 1940, to Donald and Kathleen (Sandborn) Rogers, Larry attended Michigan State University. His life was devoted to farming and the dairy operation. His passion also extended to breeding, raising, and showing quarter horses. He was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. A proud participant in the Future Farmers of America, Larry shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with others, inspiring his sons to continue the tradition of farming. Known for his kindness and loyalty, he touched the lives of all who knew and loved him.
Preceding Larry in death are his parents; beloved wife of 62 years, Cheryl (Trumble) Rogers; great-granddaughter, Savannah Rogers; sister, Mary Leonard; sister-in-law, Pat Kuenzli; brother-in-law Dale Kuenzli, and brother-in-law, James Trumble. Surviving Larry are his sons, Steven (Brenda) Rogers, Patrick (Deb) Rogers, and Ron (Becky) Rogers; grandchildren, Joshua (Rachel) Rogers, Tyler Rogers (Lexi Bell), Kelsey Rogers, Garrison, Logan, and Walker Rogers; great-grandchildren, Emma, Julian, and Aubrey Rogers; brother, Douglas (Judy) Rogers; sister, Joan Trumble; brother-in-law, William Leonard; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jerry and Eva Trumble; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.
The Funeral Service honoring Larry will be officiated by Pastor Robert Beckett at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the funeral chapel. Interment will follow at East Sebewa Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
