Laura J. Ortiz

Laura Jean Ortiz, age 67, of Ionia, Michigan, passed peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was born on September 9, 1957, to Laurel and Lauretta (Wilson) Dingler. 

Laura worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 30 years, caring deeply for those she helped. She was known for speaking her mind and staying true to who she was. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Judge Judy, WWE wrestling, and NASCAR. 

Laura is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 45 years Joseph; Kelsie Henning. She is survived by her children, Anthony Ortiz; and Jessica (Bruce) Randall of Belding; Laurie (Damian) Fockler; and Tonya (Douglas) Cook of Ionia. Grandchildren Vinnie Montegna, Alex Randall, Jacob (Hannah) Darby, James (Ashley) Daly, Joseph Rushford, Autumn Rushford, Tiffany Rushford, and Jadan Cook; Great Grandchildren, Isabelle and Noah Johns, and Silvia Darby; and her special dog Elvis. Siblings Luann (Dave Temple) Dean; Mary (Garrett) DeGram; and Tina Perry. Her Best Friend Brenda Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. A private burial will take place on September 9, 2025. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
