Laura Irene Pline, age 95, of Westphalia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023. She was born on January 9, 1928 the daughter of John and Amanda (Rademacher) Wohlfert. Laura was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Westphalia, a member of the Christian Mother’s Society, St. Joseph Society, Daughters of Isabella, and the “Vigilantes”. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, crocheting, and an occasional trip to the casino. Laura and Gus enjoyed traveling and spending time at their family cottage at Chippewa Lake. She loved going for car rides. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gus; daughter, Gina Hengesbach; son-in-law, Pete Pung, and many siblings and in-laws. Surviving are her children, Dianne (Bruce) Schafer, Connie Pung, Danny Pline, Pete (John Suckow) Pline, Janet (Doug) Feldpausch, Gene (Shell) Pline, Kris (Chris) Pline, and Kelly (Joe) Bengel; son-in-law, Mike Hengesbach; 27 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Jean Walter and Aggie Pline; special friend, Marie Thelen; her special dogs, Archie, Gabby, and Riley; and many nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 2, 2023 at St. Mary’s Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St. The rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ark in memory of Laura. Arrangements are with Lehman Funeral Homes.
