Lawrence (Larry) Lee Thelen, age 82, of Westphalia, passed away on June 18, 2026. Larry was born on February 28, 1944, in Westphalia, Michigan, to Frank and Bernita Thelen.

Larry was a loving husband to his late wife, June. Married on May 22, 1965, they shared more than 60 years together, building a life centered on family, faith and the simple joys they cherished. Whether enjoying their morning coffee together, traveling, or taking June shopping, Larry treasured every moment spent with her.

Family was always Larry's greatest priority. He was known for his sense of humor, strong faith, and unwavering support of those he loved. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities and events and could often be found trying his luck with a scratch-off lottery ticket.

Larry was a devoted father and is lovingly remembered by his three children: Kevin Thelen; Craig (Wendy) Thelen; and Gwenda (Clay) Summers. He deeply enjoyed spending time with his eight grandchildren: Kyle (Alexandra) Thelen, Kendra (Bryce) Chandler, Kirk Thelen, Molly Thelen, Lily Thelen, Allison Summers, Griffin Summers, and Colton Summers. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Beckett, Piper, and Roman Thelen, and River and Silas Chandler.

Larry is also survived by his siblings, Marilyn Halfmann, Diane Mussell, and Roy Thelen; his brothers-in-law, Bruce (Katie) Thelen, Vern Thelen, Mike (Linda) Thelen, and Louis Thelen; and his sisters-in-law, Ann Gross (Glen Bierschbach) and Karen Swanson.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, June H. Thelen; his parents, Frank and Bernita Thelen; his parents-in-law, Clement and Mary Ann Thelen; his brothers, Reynold, Francis, and Alan Thelen; his sisters, Elaine Thelen, Joanne VanHeck, and Janice Chapko; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026 with a rosary being prayed at 4:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Eric Weber on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
