Leanne Marie (Peake) Simon

Leanne Marie Simon, of Portland, passed away surrounded by her family on June 1, 2024 at the age of 64. Leanne was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Portland. She worked at the State of Michigan for 10 years and later was the Portland Township Treasurer for many years. Leanne loved tending to her flowers and watching hummingbirds. She was an avid sports fan- she especially liked the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and MSU Spartans. Leanne was a friend to many and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Leanne in death are her father, Forrest “Bud” Peake; brother, Bill Peake; father-in-law, Dave Simon; and great-niece, Margot Hengesbach. Surviving are her devoted husband of 43 years, Kevin Simon; sons, Brett (Lauren) Simon, Nick (Nicole) Simon, and Adam Simon; grandchildren, Lawson, Atlas, Lennon, Brooks, Eli, and Isla; mother, Eleanor Peake; siblings, Randy (Donna) Peake, Susan Hengesbach, Nancy (Ted) Schrauben, and Sharon Peake; mother-in-law, Janice Simon; Simon in-laws, Cindy (Tom) Brown, Jim (Jan) Simon, and Amy (Dave) Zimmerman; and many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Mike Alber at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Danby Township Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 3:30 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.
