Lisa Ann Grove was a bright light filled with humor, resilience, and a playful touch of sass. She passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on January 30, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Her passing leaves a gap in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to shine in the stories, laughter, and love she so generously shared.
Lisa was a proud graduate of Pewamo-Westphalia High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Northwood University. Her career at Blue Cross/Blue Shield was cut short due to her illness.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Harold Smith. She is survived by her mother, Clara Smith; children, Courtney (Mike) Kennedy and Jordan (Brittney) Grove; grandchildren Graham and Claire Kennedy, and siblings, Terry (Maureen) Smith, Kevin (Marsha) Smith, Sherry (Charlie) Thelen, Brenda (Bill) Schafer, Tina (Kevin) Baldwin, and Karla (Paul) Evansen. Lisa’s unique blend of humor and strength touched each of their lives deeply, leaving a lasting impact.
Lisa had a passion for life’s simple pleasures— indulging in her favorite food (especially Mexican), listening to music, and soaking in the warmth of the sun. She was known for her sarcastic sense of humor that often surprised those around her. She had an innate gift for making others smile, with a knack for turning even the toughest situations into moments of laughter. While Lisa faced many health challenges she persevered, maintaining a positive outlook on life.
