Lois Keel-Blakely Obituary

On November 18, 2023, Lois Elaine Keel-Blakely, loving mother of 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, passed away, surrounded by family, at the age of 76. Lois was born on December 11, 1946 in Alma, MI, to RV and Florence “Inez” (Jones).

While Lois dropped out of high school, she went back to obtain her diploma from Breckenridge after having children. She said she needed to do so because she had to set an example for the kids. This was her. Set an example and do what you say you’re going to do; don’t judge; don’t make fun of others; accept people for who they are. Nobody would fight for or believe in her children more than her. The strongest woman we’ve ever known.

Throughout her life, Lois was involved in playing and coaching softball, canoeing, gathering with family and friends to unwind, and the occasional casino adventure.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Walt Blakely, father, mother, granddaughter Kileigh, brothers Donald, Doug, Larry, and Edward, sisters, Vickie, Caroline, and Catherine. She is survived by her 3 children, Carol (MJ) Ryan-Stahl, Linette (Brad) Short, Brian Keel (Stefanie), and siblings, Delores Duke (Lonnie), Barbara Gallahan, Mary Denman, Beatrice Westall (Rod), Roxane Smith, Rose Miller, brother, Thomas Clements, grandchildren, Brittin (Rebecca), Quayd (Courtney), Michael (Ella), Brandon, Alicia, Katey (Thomas) great grandchildren Maddie, Bennett and best friend of all time, Katie Hutson. Memorial contributions may be to the Friends of the Looking Glass River.

A family and friend gathering will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
