Louise Mae Lanz
March 10, 1940 – April 27, 2021
Louise Mae Shissler Lanz was born in Lancaster County, PA on March 10, 1940. She accepted the Lord as her Savior when she was around nine years old and later was baptized at age 12 with the Mount Calvary Church of Elizabethtown, PA.
Louise graduated from the Berean Bible School of Allentown, PA in 1961. She also completed studies at the CEF Training institute and one year at the Grand Rapids Baptist College. She served as a missionary with CEF for two years in northeastern PA.
She married Max Allen Lanz on September 10, 1966 and they served as missionaries in Brazil for 37 years. She served along with her husband to establish three churches in Brazil and also taught classes in the Bible Institutes in Brazil. They retired from BMM in 2013 after 45 years of service. She also served along with her husband as exhibitors at Pastors’ conference for EBI, the Spanish Literature Ministry of BMM. In 2018 Louise and Max moved to Maranatha Village in Sebring, FL where they enjoyed their fellowship with fellow residents.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Alda Shissler; husband, Max Lanz; and her sister-in-law, Pat Shissler. She is survived by their three children: Pamela J. DeOliveira (Rui); Kimberly K. Lanz; Michael (Kimberly) Lanz; six grandchildren – Richard and Rodrick DeOliveira, Jonathan, Elisabeth, Gabrielle and Nicolas Lanz; and one brother, Allen Shissler and one sister, Lucy (Hershell) Buckley.
