M. Rosemary Davarn Obituary

M. Rosemary Davarn passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026. She was born on May 9, 1926, in Carson City, daughter of Dennis and Mary (O’Connor) O’Connell. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Carson City in 1944. On May 21, 1949, Rosemary married the love of her life, Jack Davarn, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carson City.

For more than 75 years, she was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Pewamo and its Alter Society. She enjoyed helping at the church and participating with the St. Joseph quilters. She also loved playing Bridge. In her later years she volunteered at Carson City Hospital. She found joy in tending her yard and flower gardens, and she was proud of her Irish heritage, with green as her favorite color. Above all, Rosemary was happiest as a wife, Mom, Nana, Grandma, and Great Grandma Rosie.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Jack, baby son James, her brothers and their spouses; Tom (Dorothy) O’Connell, Pat (Terry) O’Connell and Matt O’Connell, in-laws Bill (Bertha) Davarn and Jim (Jean) Cook.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Mary (Patrick) Mulhall; her son, Tom (Lisa) Davarn; granddaughters, Catherine (Casey) Schneider and Libby (Adam) Frizzle; and great-grandchildren, Greyson and Addi Schneider, Carter Washington, and Graham Frizzle; sister-in-law Dee O’Connell and several nieces and nephews.

She loved living in Pewamo and was blessed to live in the same home for 72 years. Her friends meant a great deal to her and became like family. Thank you all for being a part of Rosemary’s life.
