Marie Ann Epperson was born on December 19, 1933, in Springfield, Missouri and died January 13, 2025, at her home in Portland Michigan at the age of 91. Marie a Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma—spent most of her life living in Missouri being primarily a homemaker and then moving to Michigan late in life.
Marie was married to Elmer Dan Epperson on February 27, 1954, and gave birth to daughter John-Ann, sons Danny, Tony and daughter Dana. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dan, daughter John-Ann, daughter-in-law Ann and daughter-in-law Jean. Surviving her are her son Danny, son Tony, daughter Dana and son-in-law Jacob and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marie enjoyed many things in her life, in particular her family, cooking, painting, and older TV shows depicting western life of the past. Marie lived most of her life in good health but suffered in her later years from COPD but was still able to enjoy the things she wanted to up to the end; in particular being independent and “going to Walmart” (ha ha, we enjoyed that too!). Marie, Mom, Grandma (and “GG” as she was called by her great grandkids), has left an empty spot in our lives and she certainly will be missed at the next family get together.
Marie, Mom, Grandma, and GG; go rest in peace and meet your Savior and your husband whom you have longed for so much. We trust God receives your soul and that we will reunite with you in God’s due timing.
A Funeral Service will take place at 2:30 p.m., January 15, 2025, at the Portland First Baptist Church in Portland, Michigan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfunerahomes.com.
