Marie Ann Hanses

Marie Ann Hanses, age 89, of Houghton Lake, formerly of Westphalia, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025. She was born on December 14, 1935, in Westphalia. Marie was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Westphalia and Our Lady of the Lakes in Houghton Lake. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and fishing and loved riding her snowmobile.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hanses and a sister, Helen Goodman. Surviving are her son, Rick (Heidi Kolp) Hanses, daughter, Kara Adams; grandsons, Kevin (Nicki) Hanses, Kyle and Derick Hanses and Josh and Matthew Carr; great-grandchildren, Justin, Adrianna, and Jameson along with several nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. Mary’s Church. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
