Marilyn Veronica Fandel

Marilyn Veronica Fandel, age 86, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Marilyn was born on May 30, 1937 in Westphalia the daughter of Donald and Rita (Arens) Irrer. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the Christian Mother’s Society. She worked at Zeeb Fertilizer Co. for 35 years, enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and was often referred to as “Grandma Darlin”. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Denis; sisters, Sharon (Bob) Dolan and Joann (John) Lehman. Surviving are her children, Cathy (Jim) Fedewa, Bruce (Sandy) Fandel, Tim (Jamie) Fandel and Lisa (Scott) Smith; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Donald Irrer, Dale (Elaine) Irrer, David (Karen) Irrer, Larry (JoAnn) Irrer, Shirley (Russ) Manning, Janet Irrer, Cindy (Dennis) Miller, and Bill (Tina) Irrer; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 21, 2023 at St. Mary’s Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friend 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St., Westphalia. The rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s School in memory of Marilyn. Arrangements are with Lehman Funeral Homes.
