Marsha Dawn (Brownell) Wolfington

Marsha Dawn Wolfington, of Ionia, passed away surrounded by her family on July 6, 2024 at the age of 72. Marsha was born in Ionia on October 24, 1951 to Ireta and Harold Brownell, Sr. Marsha was a bus driver for the Headstart Program and a Teacher’s Aid for many years. She was a giving and devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ionia. Marsha cherished every moment spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren. In her leisure time, she delighted in reading, needlepoint, cross-stitch, crocheting, and visiting the cottage. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Marsha in death are her parents; husband, Hugh Wolfington, Sr.; son, Hugh Wolfington, Jr.; granddaughter, Autumn Wolfington; and siblings, Iva Brownell, George (Vickie) Brownell, Howard Brownell, and Raymond Brownell. Left to carry on her memory are her son, Josh Wolfington; grandchildren, Gabby Wolfington, Zach (Tyra) Wolfington, and Nicole Wolfington; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jr., Zane, Carson, Athena, and Ezra Lee; siblings, Harold Brownell, Jr., Dan (Donna) Brownell, and Marth (Greg) Stull; sisters-in-law, Grace Brownell and Lori Brownell; aunt, Darlene MacPhee; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Celebration of life for Marsha will be 11:00 a.m., August 3, 2024 at Revival Church, 345 East Lincoln Street, Ionia, Michigan, with a luncheon following the service.  Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library at the Ionia ISD or Ionia Community Awareness for Cancer in her name.
