Michael James Denczek, lovingly known as Mike, departed from this world on August 18, 2023, at the age of 64, at his home in Haslett, Michigan. He was born on May 4, 1959, to his parents, Patricia and James Denczek.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, James Denczek. He is survived by his mother, Patricia (Ingersol) Denczek.
Mike's legacy lives on through his cherished children: Michelle Braund (38), Malinda Denczek (36), Katherine Denczek (34), and Ryan Rushcamp (24). He was a proud grandfather to Maple Alcid (3) and Jasper Rushcamp (4 months).
In addition to his immediate family, Mike is survived by his loving siblings: Kelly Dygert (66), Kevin Denczek (65), and Brian Denczek (61).
Mike's journey through life was a remarkable one. He graduated from Bangor High School and went on to serve his country with honor and dedication in the United States Army, specializing in Medical Records. His commitment led him to complete Air Assault Training during his service, and he was honorably discharged in January 1985, having served from June 1977.
One of Mike's greatest passions was his love for travel. He forged enduring friendships wherever he went and leaving smiles in his wake.
After retiring as a professional butcher, Mike embraced his well-earned leisure time. He spent his retirement surrounded by friends, both human and animal, and shared an unbreakable bond with his loyal canine companion, Tank.
A Celebration of Life Picnic will be held in Mike's honor on September 16, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Lake Lansing Park North, located at 6260 E. Lake Drive, Haslett, MI.
