Mona R. Rose

Mona R. Rose, age 85, of Portland, passed away on April 2, 2019. She was born in Arkansas on July 21, 1933, the daughter of Olan and Grace (Stalings) Briake. Mona enjoyed playing Euchre in her various card clubs and was also a member of the Portland Gardening Club and the Portland VFW Post 4090 Lady's Auxiliary. She retired from Kroger after many years of faithful service. Preceding Mona in death are her parents and husband, William Rose in 1975. Mona is survived by her children, Sharon (Paul) Varney and Bob Varney; granddaughter, Karen (Jason) Whitaker; great-granddaughters, Keisha Overton and Kathryn Stockenauer; and special friends, Gene Thelen and Betty Varney. The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
