Nora Ellen (Walker) Brust

Nora Ellen Brust, age 89, of Portland went to be with Jesus on January 4, 2022. She was born on September 19, 1932 in Newport, Arkansas to Frank and Jessie (Dye) Walker. Nora was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Portland, W.M.C., and the Red Hatters. She enjoyed embroidery, coloring, and painting in her free time. Nora loved spending time with her grandchildren, fishing and camping.

Preceding Nora in death are her parents; husband, Jess Brust; son, Donald Griffin; infant son, Ronald; siblings, Rosalee Tarrence, Robert Walker, Franklin Walker, Jr., and James Waller. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (Duane) Miller; stepson, Don Brust; stepdaughter, Cathy; grandchildren, Patricia Hopkins, Jason (Richelle) Miller, Eryn Bastian, Kevin Griffin, April (Jason) Litchfield, and Ashlee Brust; 12 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Waller.

A Memorial Service honoring Nora will be held at the First Baptist Church of Portland with Pastor Gary Coleman officiating on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wilwin Lodge, 3383 Hawley Road, Custer, MI 49405 in memory of Nora.
