Randy P. Schaffner, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2026, in his home.  Born August 20, 1958, in Wauseon, Ohio, he was the son of the late Paul and Naomi (Clay) Schaffner. He grew up in Fayette, Ohio and graduated from Gorham Fayette High School in 1976. Following graduation, Randy lived in West Unity, Ohio for many years before eventually settling in Lansing, Michigan.

Randy spent most of his working life as a truck driver, appreciating the open road and navigating countless miles. Outside of his time on the road, he found peace in simple and meaningful pursuits. He was a devoted Christian and shared his faith with everyone. Randy also had a passion for natural living and spent time gardening and researching his family's history through genealogy.

He is survived by his daughters, Natalee Schaffner of West Unity and Amanda (Steve) Nofziger of Montpelier, four grandchildren: Layton Bird and Caelan, Sawyer, and Everett Nofziger; his brother, Dave (Paula) Schaffner of Fayette; and his sister, Dianne (Mike) Lumbrezer of Merritt Island, Florida. Randy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rollin.

Private graveside services for the family will be held at a later date.
