Richard D. Miles

Richard Duane Miles, of Portland, passed away on July 4, 2024 at the age of 85. He was born on October 15, 1938, the son of Richard and Gladys (Trueblood) Miles. Richard was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp and he served on the Lansing Police Department for 25 years, retiring as a Sergeant.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Gladys (Trueblood) Miles; brother, David Miles; and his wife of 49 years, Kathryn (Patton) Miles. He is survived by his loving companion, Susan Rogers; siblings, Kay (Ronnie) Arens, Mike (Cathy) Miles, Pat (Julie) Miles; children, Brian Miles and Lori (Jim Perras) Miles; grandchildren, Chelsey (Josh) Ostrander and Miles Bonaparte; great-grandchildren, Elijah Goldenbogen, Ahrianna Goldenbogen and Ambrose Diana; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Portland VFW Post #4090, 1324 E. Grand River, Portland, MI 48875 on Saturday, July 20th at 1:00 PM. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
