Richard Edward Schneider

Richard Edward Schneider, of Westphalia, age 80, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was born May 3, 1938, the son of Andrew and Mary (Rademacher) Schneider. Richard was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #2890. He owned and operated Schneider Concrete starting in 1971. Richard enjoyed hunting, playing cards, going to his grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time at his pond. Richard married his beloved wife, Helen (Klein) on July 27, 1963.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Alfred, Melvin (Margaret) Donald, Sr., Adeline, Gerry (Therese). Leonard (Pat), Germaine Nurenberg, Marie Martin, and Stan Schneider; in-laws, Louis (Louise) Klein, Anthony Klein, Richard (Gladys) Klein, Herman Klein, Leo (Phyllis) Klein, Janet Klein, and Theresa Klein. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Helen; children, Dave (Debbie) Schneider, Dennis (Donna) Schneider, Bill (Tina) Schneider, Tony (Marlene) Schneider, Lisa (Donald) Smith; 16 grandchildren, Hilary, Renae, Mallory, Jarrett, Rebecca (Joe), Mark (Angela), Haley, Kambria (Damon), Mara, Mason, Ty, Corbin, Sierra, Callie, Courtney, Trevor; great-grandchildren, Leo, Noah, Adeline, and two on the way; brother, Ed (Monica) Schneider; and in-laws, Agnes Schneider, Alice Schneider, Robert Nurenberg, John Martin, Alice Klein, Rose (Stan) Schafer, Stan Klein, Clarence Klein, Mary Ann (Ed) George, Mark (Kay) Klein.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St., Westphalia.
