Richard “Dick” Wiersma of Potterville, MI, formerly of Twin Lake, MI, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025. He was a graduate of Reeths Puffer High School, class of 1964. Following his graduation, he served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict. After completing his military service, Dick pursued a career as a semi-truck driver with Meijer, Inc., retiring in 2010.
In retirement, Dick enjoyed snowmobiling, traveling, and watching football. He was a dedicated member of the Potterville Masonic Lodge, where he held several positions.
Dick is survived by his children: Shannon (Mary) Wiersma of West Virginia; Tracy Wiersma of Muskegon; Rick Wiersma of Lansing; Robin (Josh) Caudill of Virginia; and Wendy Wiersma of Lansing. He leaves behind grandchildren Jakob (Autumn), Gabriel, Elizabeth, Leigha, Abigail, Jordan, and Hanna, as well as one great-grandchild, Ezra and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, grandparents, and brother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Potterville Masonic Lodge (4925 Royston Rd, Potterville, MI 48876) on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Dick was an “every day guy” guests are invited to celebrate his life in casual attire such as jeans and T-shirts.
