Robert James Wheeler

Robert James Wheeler, age 74, of Lyons, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. He was born on October 5, 1947, the son of Carroll “Sonny” and Doris Wheeler. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War (1967-1968) and was a lifetime member of the V.F..W Post #4646 and also of the American Legion. He retired from General Motors after 42 years of service. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, horseshoes, but most of all, he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Diane; children, Kammi (Melanie) Wheeler, Robert H. Wheeler, Richard (Shelly) Spaans, James (Amy) Wheeler, and Nikolaus (Heather) Wheeler; grandchildren, Charlie, BrieAnna, Alyssa, Emma, Jackson, and Liam; brother, John (Torri) Wheeler; sisters, Cheryl (Chuck) Gilmore and Tammy Wheeler (Pete Harkrader).

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
