Russell Jay Fletcher, age 49, of DeWitt, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 17, 1975, to Gary and Bernadette (Kolp) Fletcher, Russ lived a life full of joy, hard work, and deep devotion to his family, friends, and God. A proud graduate of Ionia High School, Russ went on to earn a Bachelor of Engineering from Ferris State University. He dedicated his career to Barnes Aerospace in Lansing, where he not only excelled as an engineer, but also built countless friendships. Russ was a true MSU Spartan fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. He loved hosting friends and family in his pole barn, where the grill and smoker were always hot and laughter filled the air. Whether camping, catching a NASCAR race, or hunting, Russ was always on the go. A gifted woodworker and a natural fixer, there wasn’t much Russ couldn’t build or repair. Above all else, he cherished his family. He found his greatest joy in being a husband and father - cheering on his daughter at her races and proudly watching his son play ball. With an infectious laugh, a heart full of kindness, and a spirit that lifted everyone around him, Russ touched the lives of many. His memory will live on in the countless stories shared and the love he so freely gave.
Preceding Russ in death are his sister, Sara Fletcher; grandparents, Russell and Florence Fletcher and Theodore and Marian Kolp; grandmother-in-law, Linda Pringle; and uncle-in-law, Doug Pringle, Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 20 years, Corrine (Pringle) Fletcher; children, Clara and Benjamin Fletcher; parents, Gary and Bernadette Fletcher; siblings, David (Tanya) Fletcher and Dawn (Gary Churchill) Scheurer; nieces and nephew, Clayton, Ryleigh, and Brooklyn; father and mother-in-law, Gary and Debra Pringle, Jr.; brother-in-law, Devin (Dani) Pringle; his Pringle niece and nephew, Emma and Easton; and countless special friends and relatives.
