Sally Lucille (Sines) Francis, age 87, of Portland, Michigan, completed her earthly journey and stepped into glory on May 13, 2026.

Born November 16, 1938, to William and Doris (Reed) Sines, Sally was a strong, compassionate woman whose quiet courage and steady kindness shaped every life she touched. Sally enjoyed her four years working for Portland’s Dr. Donald Anderson, and she served proudly in the USAF GOC Observer program during the late 1950s.

In 1959, Sally married her childhood sweetheart, Lee Francis. While raising their children, she provided in‑home childcare and served as a Cub Scout leader. Sally faithfully served her church for many years—working in Awana Kids Club, encouraging others through the Sunshine Committee, and participating in the Prayer Chain. She assisted Lee in his position of Church Financial Secretary for more than 30 years, and they were often found in the kitchen preparing meals for church events and funerals.

Sally loved cooking, trying new recipes, and decorating for the holidays. Her home was always warm, welcoming, and filled with thoughtful touches.

She is survived by her husband, Lee; children, Shelley (Tim) Perry, Linda (Ron) Mann, Luke (Cassie) Francis; daughter‑in‑law, Jody (Blundy) Francis; nine grandchildren and nine great‑grandchildren; her brother, Jack Sines, Sr.; sisters‑in‑law, Barb (Trierweiler) Sines and Donna (Snitgen) Sines; and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Zachary Francis, and siblings, William Sines, Richard Sines, and Linda (Bob) Eagan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Lehman Funeral Home in Portland. A Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, May 19, at the First Baptist Church of Portland, 406 E. Bridge St., with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Portland Cemetery, with a luncheon afterward.

Sally will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
