Sharon Elizabeth Schneider, age 77, of Pewamo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. She was born October 13, 1943 in Detroit, the daughter of Glenn and Marjorie Widrig. Sharon was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo. She worked for the Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons, Ionia Community Mental Health and the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Lee and with the “Worldly Woman”. Sharon’s greatest love was her family, especially her treasured grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Lee; her parents; daughter, Heather Bomgaars; and sister, Vicki Siefert. Surviving are her son, Glenn (Stacey) Schneider; grandchildren, Ashleigh Bomgaars, Blake Bomgaars, Collin, Luke and Julia Schneider; brother, Mark Widrig; son-in-law, Tom Bomgaars; Schneider in-laws: Sandy Thelen, Linda (Jerry) Huhn, Butch (Joan) Schneider, Roger (Sue) Schneider, Kathy (Gary) Gay and Jerome (Carol Reed) Schneider; and many nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Darrel Kempf at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a rosary being prayed at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St., Westphalia.
