Sherry Gill Obituary

Sherry Ann Gill,  87, went to go with our lord on Wednesday June 1, 2022, with family by her side in Ionia, MI, following a brief illness.

At her request, no service will be held.

She was born in 1935, in Sparta, Wisconsin to George and Iva May Noringseth. Her parents owned a dairy farm in Leon, Wisconsin. She had a brother Dean, and a sister, Karen.

George rented and operated the farm for a couple of years and then they moved into Sparta in 1945. She attended Sparta schools, graduating from Sparta High School. During her school years, Sherry loved to participate in sports.  She loved swimming, soft ball, gymnastics, roller skating and ice skating.

Sherry and Frank met and married at Truax Field in Madison, WI.  They lived in California, Newfoundland, Germany and Florida while Frank was in the air force with their children, who were born in several different areas of the world.

Sherry enjoyed Friday night dates with her husband Frank and the occasional gambling nights with friends. She loved to crochet and often gifted hand-made creations. She blessed each of her grandchildren with a homemade hat, sweater, booties, and a blanket. She also held many different jobs such as, typist, bank teller, and business manager of a Boy Scout camp, Camp Hiawatha. In the warmer months you could often find her outside gardening.  She also enjoyed RVing with her husband during retirement, spending many days in Texas and traveling, often taking grandchildren along.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Frank Gill; her children: Frank, Bernard, Elizabeth, Kevin, and John; Twelve grandchildren: Trina, Aaron, Nicolas, Moriah, Jared, Heather Britany, Melissa, Sharon, William, Richard, Hannah; and Great-Grandchildren: Daxston, Karcey, Lelain, Temperence, Naomi, Mya, Zachary, Quintin, Ella, and one more on the way.

Sherry was a devoted and loving wife to Frank, caring for him through several surgeries and health problems.  She was much loved by family and friends. We will miss her loving kind words, and her smiling face.
