Thomas Charles Fedewa, of Westphalia, passed away on February 22, 2023 at the age of 67. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on June 28, 1955, the son of Norman and Grace (Edling) Fedewa. Tom was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a volunteer fireman at the Westphalia Fire Department for many years. He retired from the State of Michigan after 19 years of service. Tom was a self-employed carpenter and he worked at Westphalia Builders. He was an avid University of Michigan fan and enjoyed watching sports. In his free time, Tom loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He spent many hours playing cards, camping, and hunting. Tom will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding him in death are his parents and brothers-in-law, Ted Bauman and Bill Peake. He is survived by his daughters, Ericka (Jeremy) Piggott of Pewamo, Carly (Nick) Scheurer of Mason, and Allison (Matt) Marston of Webberville; grandchildren, Liam, Rowan, Isla, and Simon Piggott, Aiden, Myles, and Lynden Scheurer, and Beau and Ada Marston; siblings, Monica Bauman, Stan (Linda) Fedewa, Betty (Mark) Tabor, Albert (Charlene) Fedewa, Sharon Peake, Mary (John) Gross, Mike (Deb) Fedewa, and Norma (Joe) McGarry; and many special nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Peter Lawrence at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the rosary being prayed at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia.
