Thomas Wayne Golden, age 68, of Ionia, passed away unexpectedly after many years of health issues on March 16, 2021. He was born on July 12, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Bert F. Golden and Donna J. (Holloway) Golden Neumeyer. Tom attended the Baptist College (now Cornerstone University) for two years. He worked for many years in recreational sales, as well as an x-ray technician and he provided in-office therapy for physicians. He was also trained in acupuncture and acupressure therapy. Tom had various hobbies that he enjoyed. He studied Kung Fu and Tai Chi for many years, studying under Masters Lego and Catchings. He liked camping, hiking, and other outdoor adventures. On August 10, 1974, he married the love of his life, Brenda Ruedger and they shared many wonderful years together. His greatest love was for his family – he was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
Preceding Tom in death is his father, Bert F. Golden. He is survived by his mother, Donna J. (Holloway) Golden Neumeyer; wife, Brenda Golden; son, Joel (Rachel) Golden of Crestwood, Kentucky and their children Jackson and Josiah; son, Bert Thomas (Kylie) Golden of Ada, Michigan and their daughter, Elise; son, Michael (Melinda) Golden of Ionia, Michigan and their children, Gage and Rose; his siblings, David (Kathy) Golden, Craig (Karen) Golden, Dawn Golden, and Kenneth Golden; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be officiated by Dr. Thomas Rundel at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street, Ionia. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the chapel. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
