William “Bill” G. Clark, of Portland, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024 at the age of 93. He was born in Lansing on June 6, 1931 to Newton and Elsie (Harper) Clark.
Bill proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his service, he went on to work at Motor Wheel, retiring as a Superintendent. A “jack of all trades” by nature, Bill was also a master of stained glass. His creativity and attention to detail were evident in his work, admired by many. He was a man of strong faith. Bill had a love for adventure and travel, he particularly enjoyed his time at the cottage in Tennessee. He was also an avid sports fan, with a special fondness for boxing and football. Known for his quick wit and great sense of humor, Bill could always be counted on to brighten a room with his laughter. He was also known as a dedicated workaholic, with a strong sense of commitment to whatever task he took on. Bill's greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was a simple conversation, a shared laugh, or a day spent watching their sports games.
Preceding Bill in death are his parents; wife, Helen (Hengesbach) Clark; children, Brenda Clark and Steven Clark; grandson, Lee Martin; brothers, Larry, Robert, and Herbert Clark; sisters, Sharon Armstrong, Hazel Pratt and Patricia Batchelder; and brother-in-law, Jim Bollinger.
